Women's Writing and Art Retreat FAQs

I notice that you do one scheduled retreat per year (February 25th for 2024) and by request. What does that mean?

Anyone can sign up for the February 25th retreat. Alternatively, you can gather a group of your girlfriends (no more than eight) and find a date that works for you. If you choose this option, contact me for registration details.

Do I need writing or art experience?

Nope. I will guide you through every writing and art invitation. We are all about positive feedback and sharing our stories.

What if I don’t know anyone coming to the retreat?

The magic of new people gathering around my dining room table is one of the best parts. You will never feel alone or left out. I keep the retreat small so no one is lost in the crowd.

Do I have to share my writing?

Nope. Share what you’re comfortable sharing. Being open to sharing will make the retreat better, but it’s always up to you.

What do I need to bring?

I will provide all writing and art supplies, but I do suggest bringing your favorite writing pen or pencil. I include a workbook for each retreat (with space for writing), but some participants like to use their own journals or pads of paper. What we write on is a very personal choice so bring what you love.

How much does the retreat cost?

Each retreat costs $75. oo per person. It’s payable when you register for the class. Payment secures your registration.

Since you only have eight people at each retreat, what are my best chances at getting a spot before it sells out?

Get on the waiting list for the retreats using the form below. You’ll get reminder emails one week and one day before registration opens. Register the moment it opens.

Do you have a waiting list if the retreat sells out?

Yes. Email me and I can add you. (I’ll usually know if there is space available due to cancellations one week prior to the retreat.)

Will I need to prepare anything before the retreat?

It won’t be much, but if there is any prep prior to the class beginning, I’ll send you an email with all the details.

Will there be food?

I’ll provide water, tea, fizzy, and light snacks. If you would like to bring something to share, that’s great but not expected.

Do you have pets? I’m allergic to cats.

Nope. At the moment, we are a pet-free house.

Where is the retreat?

Upon registration, I’ll send you my address. I live near Peninsula High School in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Are you available to do retreats at my house with a group of my friends? I’d love to do this for my birthday!

What if I have to cancel at the last minute? Will you give me a refund?

Refunds are offered one week prior to the retreat. After that, no refunds.
