Supplies

Writing supplies are very personal choices. These are the best for me, but your preferences might be very different. Please let me know if you love something I need to know about. I’m obsessed with pens and pencils and paper, oh my!

Journals

  1. Leuchtturm1917 - dotted, unlined, or lined

  2. WriteWellJournals.com

  3. 2-Pack Flash Cards Small Blank Mini Index Cards Punched Note Cards Pocket Waterproof PVC Cover Memo Scratch Pad with Metal Binder Rings

  4. Vera Bradley 100 Count Lined Index Cards with Dividers, Green Floral Study Buddy with Stickers and Metal Binder Ring, Mint Flowers

  5. Koogel 300 Pieces 2.2 x 3.5 Inches Multicolor Kraft Paper Binder Ring Easy Flip Flash Card Study Cards/Memo Scratch Pads/Bookmark/DIY Greeting Card/Index Card Stock/Note Card(50 Sheets per Set)

  6. TUL Discbound Student Notebook, Letter Size, 3-Subject, Black

  7. Leather Travel Journal - small one mentioned during Video 4 of the Haiku Toolkit. It’s from Little Mountain Bindery and I am in love with all their journals.

NOTE: Often, instead of purchasing a journal, I just punch holes in paper I love (a combination of cardstock for the covers and filler paper) and make my own with loose-leaf binder rings. Cheap and easy, and I can fancy it up with coloring and collage. Craft stores also have pre-made versions of this type of journal, too.

Markers

  1. Color Sharpies

NOTE: Best for vibrant colors but they do bleed through regular paper. Great for index cards which is what I use for most of my playku. The line is very thin with these.

  2. Pentel 36-Piece Fine Point Color Pen Set

NOTE: The line is much wider than the Sharpies, but the color is vibrant and they glide across the page super smooth.

  3. Micro-Line Ultra Fine Point Ink Pens - (SET OF 16) - Archival Ink - Assorted Colors in 0.3 MM Felt Tip - 5 Blacks in Tip Sizes 0.25MM to 0.5MM - Competes with Micron Fine Point Permanent Markers

NOTE: The colors in the micro-line markers are not as vibrant as Sharpies, but they do not bleed through thin paper. They write with a fine line like the Sharpies.
